Expect roughly $750 to $1,200 for a quality lucite floor shtender.

Our Full-Length Lucite Shtender sits in that range. Three reasons the price runs higher. More material, because it's a full-height piece. Thicker panels, because a floor unit has to stand on its own without wobble. Higher freight, because it ships on a larger pallet.

A cheaper floor shtender's usually cheaper for a reason. Thinner lucite, a hollow base, or glued joints save you money today and cost you a wobble the first time someone leans on it.

What changes the price

Four things move the price up or down.

Size. Floor models cost more than tabletops. Oversized custom heights cost more than standard ones.

Lucite thickness. Thicker panels run more. They also last longer and feel more solid in the hand.

What you should actually budget

• Everyday home learner: $350 to $500 for a Basic or Deluxe tabletop. Most people stop here and are happy.
• Dedicated learning corner or kollel: $800 to $1,100 for a full-length floor shtender.
• Bar mitzvah gift: $400 to $550 for a Deluxe tabletop with engraving. Often paired with a matching item from the Bar Mitzvah collection.
• Chosson or couple gift: $500 to $800 works for most. Add a dedication plaque.

What is not worth paying for
